Why is my LTE slow?
There are several reasons why your LTE connection may be slower than usual. One of the most common reasons is the Fair Usage Policy (FUP).
Check your Fair Usage Policy
Your LTE service is uncapped, but after very high data usage during the month, your speed may be reduced.
For example, if your package provides speeds of up to 20 Mbps, your speed may be reduced to 4 Mbps after reaching the applicable FUP threshold.
The speed reduction is temporary and will reset at the start of your next billing month.
Try these troubleshooting steps
Before contacting support, try the following:
- Restart your LTE router by switching it off, waiting a few seconds, and switching it back on.
- Check the router's signal and make sure it is placed in a suitable location, preferably near a window.
- Move closer to the router and check whether the connection is faster on your device.
- Disconnect other devices temporarily and test the connection again.
- Run a speed test to check your current download and upload speed.
If possible, test the connection on another device to see if the problem is only affecting one device.
